Vegetation of Sulawesi (ECA - TNC/Indonesia)

Characteristic plant groups

The links below lead to photos of the Leiden collections for these important groups.  These groups were found to be distinctive for specific forest types on the island through analysis of species diversity and distribution.  These photos represent only a selection of the characteristic plant groups and all species in each group are shown, not merely those characteristic for each forest type.  For a list of the characteristic species within each plant group, please refer to the following list.

The presentation of these photos will be improved.  At the moment, species names are listed in the indices.  The whole specimen photographs are also available but have not been integrated into this website yet.  Much higher resolution photos are available.
