Elizabeth P. Gordon

I am a second year M.S. student in Biology.  I previously worked in the Tissue lab as a technician starting in July 2003 and came back for my graduate degree, starting August 2005.  My research interests involve the exploration of molecular responses to ecological events and plant physiology.  As an undergraduate, I was an HHMI research fellow and worked with Dr. Robert Baker from June 2002 to May 2003, receiving my B.S. in Zoology in May 2003.  I also worked with Dr. Stuart Ravnik as a SABR (Summer Accelerated Biomedical Research) intern in Summer 2001.  From August 2004 to May 2005, I spent time working on a M.S. in Biotechnology and worked with Dr. Simon Williams on sumoylation of proteins before deciding that my research interests were more global and returning to Dr. Tissue's lab.  I am exploring the differential responses of Xanthium strumarium when it is exposed to different nutrient regimes and focusing more specifically on the enzyme response of invertase, SPS, and Rubisco under these conditions.  I am also the lab's "computer geek" and therefore spend part of my time making sure that nothing explodes as well as coding these webpages.
